Come join the fun...we throw, jump & run!

Overview of HCC Summer Track Program
We are a competitive club open for ages 8-18 yrs. There are no tryouts. Practices will be on Tuesday and Thursday 530-7pm and Saturday mornings 930-11am. We will start practices on April 7th and have 2-4 weeks of general conditioning and evaluating athletes for specific events. We have multiple event specific coaches and athletes will be assigned to one or more training groups (distance/middle distance/sprints/hurdles/jumps/throws/multievents). At this time we do not have a pole vault coach.

Athletes compete against kids who have the same birth year (no matter what month). At age 15, they are grouped into two years (15/16, 17/18). Athletes who are turning 19 in 2022 are eligible to compete as long as they are still 18 years old before Jr. Olympics ends.

HCC participates in 2 different organizations-
TAAF (Texas Amateur Athletic Federation) State Level Competition

AAU (American Athletic Union) National Level Competition

Each organization has their own end of the year Championship, and it is our goal for each athlete to qualify for one of these meets.
For TAAF, it is the TAAF State Summer Games of Texas
For AAU, it is the AAU Jr. Olympic Games

Primary Division
Athletes who are between the ages 5-8 years old also have the additional chance to compete in the AAU Primary Division.  They will only compete against other athletes who have the same birth year. There are separate Districts Meets just for this age group. There is also an AAU Primary National Championship held every year at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, FL. We do not put this on our team meet schedule, but its a really fun individual option for all primary (5-8yr) athletes. Otherwise the age division starts at 8 and under for AAU.

Practice Location

We will be practicing at the BISD Stadium.  We must work around existing school activities, so may have to alternate locations at times. Our practice schedule will ALWAYS be updated on google calendar on our team page, so please make a point of always checking there.

It is our expectation that all athletes will attend all practices and meets.  However, we understand that athletes may participate in other sports, have family vacations, ect that will keep them from making every practice. Track and Field is primarily an individual what you put in is what you get out. We hope that everyone's goal is to qualify for and compete at a championship(s) at the end of the season, but if not, it is our goal that every athlete comes away from the season loving T&F and wanting to return to our club.
