As a Boerne Greyhound, she medaled at the state track meet her sophomore year when she won silver in the 800 meters, then her junior year, suffered from a broken leg late in her basketball season, but placed 3rd at the regional meet after a quick recovery and determined comeback. Her senior year, Courtney clocked in with a career-best time of 2.12.78 (8th fastest time in the nation) to capture gold in Austin, and became the first Boerne High School girl athlete to ever win a gold medal at the state track meet. Upon graduation from High School, she was invited to compete in the Junior Olympic Games, and her top 8 finish resulted in All-American honors. While at Boerne High School, along with track, she ran cross country for the Lady Hounds and helped her team qualify for the state cross country meet her senior year, played on varsity all four years in basketball, played volleyball, and softball. She currently holds records at Boerne High School in the 800m, 400m and the mile relay, that were set her senior year in 1998. After high school, Courtney earned a scholarship and ran competitively at Southwest Texas State University for four years and was part of their conference championship team, was all-conference for two seasons. She served as a team captain while she was a Bobcat, ran the 800 meters and relays in college and was part of the cross country team. Courtney is the mom of four future Greyhounds. She is a motivator and finds great fulfillment in helping others reach their potential on and off the track. She is looking forward to coaching with the Hill Country Comets, and hopes to help build the program as the powerhouse of club track and field in the Hill Country.
