How we Started

Hill Country Comets Track Club was established in 2014 by Stefan and Jane Blomqvist. The husband-wife team has been involved with Track & Field for most their lives-first as athletes, and then as parent-coaches of their two sons, Benjamin and Noah. Both boys grew up on the track and began competing at track meets around the age of 2. Over the years, many of their friends asked how to get their children involved in track and field like Ben and Noah. Those requests, along with the desire to offer a fun team atmosphere for their boys to experience, is what finally led to the formation of Hill Country Comets.

In 2016, HCC joined forces with local Boerne track legend, Courtney Darter Bruce, from the Boerne Bullets City Track Team, and retired legend distance coach, Dave Fulkerson. We believe we are stronger together, and all share a love of track and field. Moving forward, our common goal is to bring Track and Field into the spotlight here in the Texas Hill Country, and provide an exceptional training program for local youth.
